MET BALL 2013

Yesterday the world's best red carpet fashion event took place, the MET Ball 2013. It is an annual ball that celebrates the annual opening of the Metropolitan Museum's fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute. It is a night where all guests dress to impress. The invited celebrities were asked to dress their best with a touch of punk! I used to love this type of music in my teenage years, but I kept loving the fashion that goes with it. So I was very excited to see that a lot of celebs followed the request to dress punk and I gathered my 10 favorite MET Ball 2013 looks.

10. Christina Ricci in Vivienne Westwood

Christina rocked this dress that shows off her toned legs and naughty smiling red lips! 

9. Nicki Minaj in Tommy Hilfiger 

Not very punkish, but Nicki Minaj looked so pretty I couldn't leave her out! 

8. Doutzen Kroes in Olivier Theyskens

Black and leather = Punk!

7. Kate Beckinsale in Alberta Ferretti

A very cute and feminine dress, yet rock'n roll because of all the volume.

6. Ivanka Trump in Juan Carlos Obando

I have always loved green and black together. The golden accessories finish off the look that would have been too basic without them. 

5. Jessica Alba in Tory Burch

Jessica's look isn't that punk, but the earrings give the look a special touch. And they go great with her intense eye make up. 

 4. Sienna Miller in Burberry

I love the though spike headband combined with the blonde and girly hairstyle.

3. Karolina Kurkova in Mary Katranzou

I love this short printed dress! Karolina's heels, smokey eyes and slicked back hair go perfect with the dress and make her look very punk!

2. Jennifer Lopez in Michael Kors

JLO looks amazing in this figure hugging leopard dress. I also love her "Gwen Stefani" hairdo. She looks so hot for 43, I only hope I can look half this good when I hit 40! 

1. Miley Cyrus in Marc Jacobs

Miley has to be my number 1 favorite. To me she is the celeb that took punk the most serious. From the mesh dress to the big spiky hair and red lips, she looks badass but sexy at the same time. I hope to see more daring looks like this from her in the future!

OSCARS 2013

(Sorry I've been so quiet the past couple of days. I have been very busy with working for school. I'll try to get more regular updates on my blog again!)

Past Sunday The Oscars were presented. I was really looking forward to it, especially because a Belgian short film "Death of a shadow" was nominated. Matthias Schoenaerts a Belgian (hottie) actor had a role in the film. Unfortunately it didn't win, but in our small Belgium country a nomination on its own is already remarkable.

As you might know already the Oscar for best movie went to... Argo. I think it is an earned one, though I liked the movie Life of Pi even more, I was secretly rooting for Richard Parker & co!

Now to the Oscar for best dressed! I liked a lot of the dresses and thought there was a lot of diversity on the red carpet. The ladies (and stylists of course) stepped it up a notch for the most important night of the year in Hollywood. My favorite looks were...

She earned the Oscar for Best Actrice, and she even looked like an Oscar at the after party! I also loved her dress she wore during the show, but after her adorable trip I understand why she wanted to change in something more comfortable...

Britney looked so good!! She looked classy, young and shiny! A look she should always be striving for. I am a fan of the brown locks too, so much more healthy looking hair than the bleach blonde!

Btw, did anyone think Miley Cyrus and Charlize Theron looked very similar? Just some age and tattoo differences!
